Please be aware /r/Soundbars exists as well as you will be met with opposition to posting about soundbars here. Most can be expanded to 5.1 if you buy the correct items in the correct order.įor further explanation please read Why You Shouldn't Buy a Soundbar It is the general consensus of r/hometheater not to recommend these things and instead simply steer a user toward a 2.0 or 2.1 system made of quality, Audio-Centric name brand components which are easy to assemble and cheap enough for low budget or space conscious buyers. My experience with chat support was not helpful, the rep was courteous but basically confirmed that these were issues that buyers often run into.99.9% of the time Soundbars or HTiB (Home Theater in a Box) systems are not a good investment of your time and money. ![]() So this might seem like a minor point, but it becomes critical in practice. And if you don't get the cables managed properly, the TV won't fit back against the wall cleanly. ![]() Hiding the cables is a great idea but the execution is lacking. You absolutely need to find thin cables to make it all work. But you can't put that many cables through those small holes and the cable covers are not easy to remove or install. My bigger issue is the hiding of the cables which I felt was a reason to buy this model. I do worry that there is too much wobble but maybe this is expected for an 83" TV using a full-motion mount. Premium Solid Mount but Some Issues Bought this as my first mount for an 83" TV as I felt I should go with a premium product for such a big and expensive TV. It won't prevent someone determined from ripping your TV down, but no (conventional) display option would. The load of the TV is supported by the bracket, and the screw is only there to prevent an accident from dislodging the TV. It'll pop right off and then can be taken off by hand.Īs a mechanical engineer, the securement screw is more than adequate. Use a screwdriver to pry up one end and then a light tap with a hammer. I'd recommend doing it before attaching the arms. The cable management covers can be a little difficult to pop off the first time. There are some misleading comments in other reviews: If you only have a few cables you can tidy them up quickly and without cutting drywall. The cable management is a nice extra feature. The TV sits securely on the mount, moves very smoothly, and sits nice and close to the wall. Plus, the online tool took the math out of how high I needed to mount the bracket. ![]() The installation wasn't easy, but the detailed instructions were easy to follow gave me confidence to install it by myself. Great Quality, Features, and Instructions I bought mine open box on eBay for much cheaper, but even at full price I'd be happy.
